Mahogany work table – Charles X period Charming work table from the Charles X period, made of mahogany, combining elegance and ingenuity. This refined small piece of furniture rests on a four-legged console base connected by a circular stretcher, characteristic of furniture from 1825-1835. The rectangular top with rounded corners opens to reveal an interior mirror, transforming the table into a supplementary dressing table. It also reveals several compartments designed for storing sewing accessories, jewellery, or toiletries. At the bottom, a compartmentalised drawer, lined with green felt, offers additional storage. The two retractable side flaps increase the work surface when deployed. The mahogany features a superb natural grain enhanced by a beautiful antique patina. Period: Charles X, first half of the 19th century. Materials: mahogany, mirror, compartmentalised interior. Condition: very good overall condition. Beautifully restored for use, perfect functioning of the openings. Some slight signs of age consistent with its antiquity. Dimensions: Height: 69 cm Width: 51 cm Depth: 35 cm An elegant Charles X work table, both decorative and functional, ideal as a small dressing table, sewing cabinet, or side table in a classic or contemporary interior.
