Large library / vintage showcase from the 1970s by Kim Moltzer

Large library / design showcase attributed to Kim Moltzer (same design, mixed assembly details) made in the 1970s. The rectangular-shaped library features the geometric forms appreciated by the designer. It has four glass shelves within a large structure of gilded brass. The base is made of black lacquered wood. This large piece of high quality can serve as a room divider. From birth, Kim Moltzer (1938-2015) was immersed in an extraordinary cultural environment. Born in Berlin in 1938, he is of Dutch nationality but grew up in Argentina, where his parents settled when he was two years old. He studied in Europe, where his connections with architect Jean-Paul Barray allowed him to pursue his true passion: the design and creation of furniture pieces. Together, they founded ECFI (Études Construction Formes Industrielles) in 1966, a company specialising in the design of professional spaces and apartments. Dimensions: Height 191 cm. Length 152 cm. Depth 37.5 cm. Upper shelves: 39.6x31x0.6 cm. Lower shelves: 149.5x31x0.6 cm. Condition report: In general good condition. Wear from time on the brass and a small chip on the side of the black lacquered wood. Re-electrified. Works perfectly. The shelves are made of safety glass.
