Handcrafted chair in solid wood, resting on three tapered and sculpted legs, featuring raw and expressive carving work. The seat and backrest are upholstered in natural hide (probably goat or calf), secured with visible upholstery nails, enhancing its rustic and warm aesthetic. The backrest, slender and partially open at the top, is adorned with relief sculpted patterns, while the seat's apron showcases a notched decoration typical of French regionalist productions from the mid-20th century. The contrast between the dark wood of the legs and the warmer tone of the structure adds depth to the whole. This piece strongly evokes the work of Charles Dudouyt, a major figure in French design from the 1930s to the 1950s, known for his solid wood furniture with primitive and sculptural forms, often associated with natural materials like leather or hide.
