This bow-fronted chest of drawers in solid cherry wood is a beautiful example of **Louis XV** style, typical of refined provincial furniture. "Bow-fronted" facade: This term refers to the curved shape of the front that resembles the curvature of a crossbow (two convex curves on the sides and a concave central part). It is a complex cabinetmaking task that requires a high level of technical skill. Made of solid cherry, identifiable by its fine grain and warm, slightly amber hue. Top: **A thick slab of **Breccia marble** (probably from Aleppo Breccia or a similar marble from southern France) in ochre and beige tones, whose cut perfectly follows the movement of the wood. It opens with three rows of drawers. There is a vertical separation that gives the illusion of nine small drawers, but there are actually three large drawers (or a combination with small drawers in the top row, as suggested by your photo of the open drawers). * **Ornamentation:** The chest of drawers is adorned with gilded bronze (drop handles and lock plates) featuring a motif of scrolls and rocaille foliage. Base: The lower rail is beautifully shaped and sculpted in its centre with a **stylised shell**, emblematic of the Louis XV style. It rests on "curved" feet ending in small scrolls (deer feet). 120 cms wide 48 cms deep 85 cms high GOOD CONDITION
