This large art deco vase in black opaline glass, engraving, green and red decoration and inserts of brass and chromed steel, is a creation of the russian artist anatole riecke, signed and dated 1946. Master glassmaker of la coupole, in paris, he is at the origin of the emblematic art deco decoration of this parisian mecca during the 1930s. His very fine glasswork is manifested here with a cubist influence in the abstract patterns that contrast the very smooth surface of the black opaline. Chic and timeless, this vase will go well with both old and contemporary pieces. This piece is in a superb state of conservation. Signed a.riecke and dated 46.
