Square coffee table in travertine and glass, dating from the 1970s. A sculptural furnishing piece in which the solidity of natural stone contrasts with the lightness and transparency of the glass top. The base consists of travertine slabs arranged at right angles and assembled with visible metal fittings, creating a geometric structure that alternates solid surfaces and open spaces. The warm tones of the stone, with its characteristic natural veining and porous texture, give depth and material richness to the composition. At the centre is a decorative panel in brown and gold enamelled metal, featuring an abstract geometric motif, visible through the large square transparent glass top. This graphic detail introduces a decorative element that contrasts with the geometric rigour of the structure and complements the natural variations of the travertine. The balance of materials, geometry and decorative details gives the table a distinctive architectural presence, reflecting the experimentation with materials and forms characteristic of Italian design in the 1970s. Condition: Excellent overall condition. Dimensions: Length 90 cm – Depth 90 cm – Height 37.5 cm. Ref.: T0639.
