Travertine and chromed metal table lamp by Paolo Salvi, 1960s

Rare table lamp by Paolo Salvi, made in Italy in the 1970s. It is made of travertine, a common natural stone in Italy. The stem of the lamp rises and holds a round, adjustable shade made of chrome-plated metal. The combination of these materials creates a beautiful effect and produces a pleasant light. The chrome has developed a nice patina over the years, which could be polished, but has been left in its authentic condition. There are no damages to the metal or stone. Overall, it is in very good condition. The lamp is attributed to Paolo Salvi; other identical lamps have an attribution sticker stating 'designer Paolo Salvi'. This lamp no longer has the sticker but remains in its original and authentic condition.
