Louis XV style bedside table in marquetry rosewood
Superb Louis XV style bedside table in marquetry rosewood, handcrafted in the 1980s. The marquetry, depicting roses, is particularly fine and successful, as is the bronze hardware. The intact marble is covered underneath with an anti-slip paint, matching the dimensions of the wooden structure, allowing for perfect positioning and preventing it from sliding. The handcrafted nature is confirmed by the number 1177 and reference A 7 stamped on the wooden top beneath the marble. There are also numerous handwritten inscriptions in the wooden structure or on the underside of the marble. This bedside table is in exceptional condition (see photos), with the only sign of use found inside the top drawer, in the form of a ring mark.
