Old illustration 1948. Ground ivy - Vintage botanical plate

Authentic engraving from 1948 (78 years ago!). This is not a modern reproduction, but a genuine antique engraving. Subject: Ground Ivy. Artist: H. Strache. Size: 20 X 30 cm. Edition: 1948. Thick, elegant cream-white vintage paper, with possible intentional imperfections in the paper. • Name of the plant in German. Condition: very good. The artist of the work is Hertha Strache, a botanical illustrator. This engraving comes from a botanical work dedicated to wild flora, originally published in Germany and printed in Berlin. With its natural colours and vintage style, it illustrates the richness of historical botanical iconography. A true historical and decorative document, it is an ideal piece for framing and decoration. At the foot of the illustration is the species designation in German, accompanied by the Latin name. Gracefully creeping, the ground ivy reveals small, charming purple flowers. Used in herbalism, it symbolises resilience and scents the undergrowth with a welcome aromatic touch.
