Set of 7 Sarreguemines Bamboo 1880 ironstone plates

Sarreguemines, circa 1880, sensational bamboo decoration in the Napoleon III style, depicting a winter garden or veranda of a private mansion, inspired by the colonial period of Siam. The branches are in low relief, clearly hand-painted. In brilliant, fresh condition, with the cloudiness characteristic of 19th-century ironstone, which diminishes considerably with use. These exquisite pieces, which have seen little or no use, are 150 years old! Handwritten signature with a stamp. Diameter 24.7 cm. Extraordinary and rare.
