Beautiful vintage sculpture from the mid-20th century, made of carved wood representing a standing woman carrying a jar on her head. Crafted from dark-stained wood, it is of fine quality craftsmanship. Likely originating from West Africa, it recalls the style of Baoulé sculptures. Without certain attribution. A lovely decorative piece of tribal art. 56.5cm high, base approximately 13cm in diameter and 10cm deep. Overall good condition, with some wear, minor scuffs/scratches, and signs of age consistent with its age, with no missing parts. Weighs approximately 1kg.
