First edition MTP cabinet by Marian Grabinski for IKEA (Sweden, 1961). Rare find! This vintage IKEA cabinet is a first-edition piece from the original prototype series created in 1961, shortly before the MTP series was introduced in the IKEA catalogue in 1962. At the time, IKEA had just one store, located in Almhult, Sweden. The MTP series was originally designed by Marian Grabinski as a wedding gift for Ingvar Kamprad, founder of IKEA. The cabinet is in very good vintage condition, with some visible signs of use and areas of discoloration, as shown in the photos. Stamped on the back.
