Antique Directoire style salon (2-seater bench + chair)

Beautiful period salon set comprising a two-seater settee and its matching chair, in Directoire style (late 18th / early 19th century). Ideal for adding character to an entrance, living room, or bedroom. Structure in solid wood, with clean and geometric lines typical of the style, tapered front legs, and armrests with rolled ends on the settee. Classic upholstery with bi-coloured vertical stripes in green and white/cream, featuring discreet neo-classical floral patterns. The set is perfectly stable and solid to sit on. The fabric shows some light superficial stains that will fade with targeted cleaning. The legs of the settee are damaged at the base (old traces of wood-boring insects that are now inactive), but this does not affect the strength and stability of the furniture.
