Superb vase sculpture signed Jean Linard, made of partially glazed stoneware, circa 1970. Structured, sinuous, vibrant, almost organic, its forms shaped by fingers animated by passion make it a unique piece. Jean Linard (1931 - 2010): engraver, painter, sculptor, ceramist, and architect of the "cathedral" of Neuvy-deux-Clochers (listed as a historical monument as "singular art"), in which his dreamlike universe pays homage to Gaudí, the facteur Cheval, and the Maison Picassiette of Raymond Isidore... Husband of Anne Kjaersgaard, who allowed him to develop his talent as a ceramist, he said: "to feel, to love, to express with the earth things that others will be able to love"... Words beautifully illustrated through the form of this splendid object... Excellent condition, small chips on one edge (see photos), signature impressed on the bottom back of the object. Height = 40 cm; width = 25 cm; depth = 22.5 cm. Weight = 4.350 kg.
