Vintage Swedish Gösta Grähs and Kerstin Hörnlund Oxblood Glaze Flask Vase

This vintage Swedish vase is a square flask with an organic shape and horizontal scores over an oxblood glaze. It shares a kinship with Shoji Hamada’s mingei flask vases and is stamped 'GH' for Grähs Hörnlund. Created by the ceramic artists and married couple Gösta Grähs and Kerstin Hörnlund, this piece reflects their expertise in free-form ceramics. Gösta Grähs is represented with four ceramic art pieces in the collections of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. He and his wife have run their atelier in Arboga since 1968, with Gösta having been active at Rörstrand in the 1980s. He was educated at the Art School in Stockholm from 1961 to 1965. This vase is made of rough chamotte stoneware and is in good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions: Height: 9.06 in (23 cm), Width: 5.91 in (15 cm), Depth: 5.91 in (15 cm).
