Painted Folk Art Bridal Cupboard

Primitively decorated / painted bridal cabinet from germany, to be precise from franconia. The cabinet has a very rustic appearance and shows plenty of character. The cabinet is painted with various motifs in mainly beige colours. The mouldings are painted grey-blue. What is striking is that the right side is painted in a slightly different colour, although this still looks like paint from that time. The inside is equipped with two shelves and coat hooks, this is the original layout, if desired, shelves can easily be added. The lock is no longer present, but the doors can be neatly closed by means of a hook. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was later placed on the farm in a show room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. The cabinet can be dismantled (two parts). The date is around the year 1800. 179cm high, 130cm wide, 50cm deep.
