19th-century solid wood Auvergne storage bench, designed to be placed near the fire, around the cantou. One part of the seat lifts up to access the storage compartment, while the high backrest and armrests create a simple and enveloping structure. The piece shows an old restoration on one side. The wood in this area is particularly marked and worn, with traces that may indicate prolonged exposure to the heat of the fireplace. A rare piece of rural furniture, with a beautiful presence and a history that can be inferred from its marks and repairs. Dimensions: H 99 × Seat height 40 × W 124 × D 48 cm
