Vintage coffee table J&G Picard Vallauris – Glazed ceramic top with Japonese-style decoration

Magnificent vintage coffee table signed JGP Vallauris, featuring a superb circular top made of hand-painted glazed ceramic tiles, resting on an elegant twisted wrought metal base. The decor depicts a poetic Japonese scene with a traditional musician, a lakeside landscape, mountains, and a red sun, in a style very characteristic of the artistic creations of Vallauris from the 1950s to the 1970s. The tiles showcase a brilliant enamel work with beautiful shades of blue, aquamarine, black, and red. The crafted metal base adds a lot of elegance with its scrolls and decorative details inspired by artisanal wrought iron. The whole piece offers a strong decorative presence, ideal for a vintage, Mediterranean, artistic, or design interior. An authentic and decorative piece, typical of the French artistic production of Vallauris. Very good overall vintage condition. The ceramic top shows slight signs of wear consistent with its age. The metal structure is stable and solid. Very nice overall patina.
