Rob Parry for Gelderland "Lotus" lounge chair model 1611, The Netherlands 1950's

Grey metal frame has been repainted. Black wooden frame, arm rests and springs are in good original condition. New cushions and new green-grey uphosltery. Seat height41 cm, seat depth50 cm, seat width52 cm. With minimal use of materials, parry managed to make an elegant and spacious design. The combination of these properties and the use of metal is a perfect example of dutch mid-century modern design. In his career he designed many items. Famous are for example his lotus lounge chair and sofa, f& t dining or side chair, coffee table and parlez dining table. Together with friso kramer, martin visser, cees braakman and wim rietveld, rob parry is among the best and famous designers of the dutch midcentury.
