Robert Pierini (Born in 1950) Matte black blown glass vase. On a foot with a glossy black cord at the neck. Decorated with blue and red shards. Signed underneath and dated 1985. Height: 18cm. Excellent condition. *Lives and works in France. He apprenticed at the Biot glassworks under the direction of Eloi Monod. Then in 1980, he became independent and experimented with mixing different products. This is how he began to create unique pieces by studying the relationships of ideal proportions based on the famous golden ratio, composing with the inherent qualities of glass, its ability to reflect light or, conversely, to absorb it, its transparency or opacity, while playing subtly with colours. He notably developed a colour of red so distinctive that it was named "Pierini red". Having settled for 40 years in an old 15th-century oil mill in a building made from stones of the former fortress, Robert PIERINI is an exceptional master glassmaker, recognised across the length and breadth of France. Indeed, collectors of exceptional objects as well as art dealers acknowledge his talent. Major international exhibitions, both solo and group, in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Germany, as well as Japan, Canada, and the United States, have also solidified his reputation.
