Stone sculpture of a female figure, modernist form, 1980s, produced in Denm

The sculpture was made in the 1980s and is of Danish origin. It is a stone sculpture depicting a female figure in a kneeling position. Its simplified form, with strongly geometric lines and a synthetic approach to the figure, refers to the modernist aesthetics of the second half of the 20th century. The smooth, light beige surface of the stone emphasises the softness of the modelling and at the same time gives the object an elegant, minimalist character. The sculpture has a clearly decorative dimension, but at the same time it has the value of a study of form, which makes it close to the tradition of modernist explorations in chamber sculpture.
