Magnificent portrait of a man with a moustache and bow tie, created in dry pastel towards the end of the 19th century (Napoleon III / Belle Époque period). The work is distinguished by the delicacy of the features and the characteristic airy rendering of the pastel technique. The artist's monogram "GT" can be seen in the top right corner. The subject exudes a certain presence, typical of bourgeois portraits of the time. The painting is enhanced by an imposing original frame made of wood and gilded stucco, decorated with acanthus leaves. This piece will immediately bring a historical charm and a "family home" touch to your interior. The pastel is very well preserved under its original glass. The frame shows some missing stucco at the corners (visible in the photos), which attests to its age and adds to its authenticity. Solid structure with its hanging system on the back.
