Studio stoneware vase from Denmark made in the 1970s, heavily influenced by Japanese mingei ceramics and the work of Tatsuzo Shimaoka. The piece features a rectangular architectural shape with a narrow central neck and a textured glaze in shades of brown, cream, and bronze. The highly tactile relief and material effects give the vase a sculptural presence reminiscent of Scandinavian ceramic brutalism. This type of ceramics reflects the significant influence of Japanese traditions on Scandinavian workshops in the 1960s and 1970s. Unmarked.
