The Locus Solus daybed, designed in 1964 by Gae Aulenti for Poltronova, is a striking example of Italian design from the 1960s. The structure is characterised by its curved tubular metal frame, which is both minimal and pop. It can function as an elegant sofa/daybed for one or two people - a foldable part discreetly stores underneath the main structure. Designed to accommodate two single mattresses. The mattresses and their original cover are too worn to be offered for sale. Light yet sturdy, with an open and airy shape, it was conceived for use both indoors and outdoors, depending on the chosen textile covering. Condition: Very good condition. Materials: Tubular steel structure, chrome finish. Designer: Gae Aulenti. Manufacturer: Poltronova. Design: 1964. Dimensions: 200 x 87 x 72 cm.
