Sublime soliflore vase typical of the glassworks of Empoli (Tuscany, Italy) from the 1960s. A flagship piece of Mid-Century Modern (MCM) design that instantly captures light with its deep and vibrant cobalt blue colour. This beautifully crafted artisanal piece stands out due to the technique of bubble glass, trapping a myriad of organic bubbles within a generously dense parison (607 g). The glassmaker's expertise is expressed in superb details: a fine thread of transparent glass has been applied hot in a spiral around the ribbed neck, creating an elegant contrast of textures. Under the base, the textured mark of the broken pontil undeniably attests to its authentic handcrafted production, mouth-blown. Condition: Superb vintage condition. Glassware perfectly shiny and translucent (no limescale veil). To note for pure expert requirement: two micro-chips (which are not related to accidents but occurred during the manufacturing process at the moment of separating the vase from the cane) under the heel of the base, completely invisible once the vase is placed. The delicate thread of the neck is intact. Dimensions: Height 20 cm x Width 9 cm. Shipping: The packaging will be extremely careful and secure. The piece will benefit from custom protection (specific shielding of the fragile neck, multiple layers of bubble wrap, rigid cardboard) to ensure risk-free transport.
