Jean gerbino (1876-1966) is a sicilian master ceramist, naturalized french in 1928. Initially a simple turner, he settled in vallauris and developed a unique technique combining mosaic and neriage (mixture of colored earths). He colors the clays with oxides, hardens them, then assembles them into plates to create mosaic patterns, colorful and very recognizable. These plates are then molded, dried, and fired twice after a transparent enamel. His creations, inspired by the exoticism of the 1930s, seduce with their unique patterns and contrasting colors. 🧡h8cm/w9cm approx 🧡gerbino 🧡1950-1960 🧡very good condition.
