A small antique porcelain table lamp, beautifully hand-painted in a famille jaune inspired Chinoiserie style, featuring delicate floral motifs and intricate geometric patterns on a soft yellow background. The porcelain is decorated in alternating sections divided by red stripes: yellow-ground panels carry cascading sprays of pink peonies, smaller daisy-like blooms, teal-green leaves, and red berry clusters; the adjoining white panels are filled throughout with a repeating blue star trellis. The slender neck continues the yellow ground with teal botanical sprays. The palette — warm yellow, red, pink, teal, and white — places this firmly in the European Chinoiserie tradition working in the famille jaune taste. French decorators of the late 19th century routinely reinterpreted Chinese famille jaune wares in a distinctly European register, and this lamp carries that synthesis clearly. The lamp retains its original bayonet socket (B22 bulb) but has been newly rewired for modern use, complete with a new pleated white silk lampshade.
