Hand-held candlestick in turned stoneware, cream-yellow straw glaze. France, circa 1980. Hand-turned stoneware, cream-yellow straw glaze with sandy reflections, partially polished. Traditional shape known as "hand candlestick," "cellar rat," or "chambermaid": circular dish with a rim, baluster-turned shaft with a collar, ring handle. Unglazed base, light grey stoneware visible. Unmarked, in the tradition of French ceramic workshops from the second half of the 20th century. Height: 11 cm. Diameter: 12.5 cm. Very good condition. Homogeneous glaze without chips or visible cracks.
