Suite of 4 Conference chairs by Eero Saarinen for Knoll of the 50s

A true icon of design since its creation in the 50s, we no longer present the conference chair, still called executive chair or chair n°71, straight out of the imagination of the genius designer eero saarinen. At the request of florence knoll and its prestigious customers wishing to furnish their professional premises with furniture combining functionality and aesthetics, eero saarinen creates a chair with curved shapes and avant-garde design, directly inspired by its womb armchair published some time before, from which it borrows comfort and elegance, versatility in addition. From general motors to cbs via the headquarters of unesco in paris, the success of the conference chair is such that it is, even today, one of the brand's bestsellers. The proposed series is part of the very first edition of the 50s. The chairs are composed of a plywood structure trimmed with foam and covered with fabric, resting on a black lacquered tubular metal base and articulated skates. The timeless character of the camel color imitation leather upholstery will allow them to adapt to any interior and survive all fashions. These chairs are offered in their juice. They show many signs of use and accidents such as cracks more or less important at the level of imitation leather, discoloration stains or darker areas, traces of cigarette burns... Two articulated skates are missing on one of the chairs, and you can feel that the plywood crumbles through the fabric that covers the underside of the chairs. On some of them, the imitation leather is a little sticky at the back of the backrests. Despite everything, they remain very comfortable. The trim is in good condition and the metal shows few signs of use. Seat height: about 45 cm.
