Kalamkari is a traditional pictorial art of andhra pradesh (south india). Kalam, a term of persian origin, means the brush or brush and "kari" the hand. The themes evoked are generally drawn from hindu mythology, nature (flowers, animals) and everyday life. The drawings are often made by hand, using a cut bamboo, equipped with a small tank containing the vegetable dye. The drawings can also be carved on wooden planks and then printed on cotton canvas. The dyes used are always of vegetable or mineral origin and the canvases that receive the patterns are always made of cotton. Dimensions: 260x220 cm. Status: some spots on the edges.
