Set of 6 flat plates in fine earthenware, stamped L. Bourgeois Paris – 21 rue Drouot, a company active at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, specialising in the distribution of decorated earthenware. The decoration, printed in shaded green on an ivory background, is organised into a continuous peripheral frieze. Symmetrical composition blending arabesques, stylised cartouches, and light floral motifs, with very fine punctuation and filling work that adds relief without overloading. The design oscillates between Art Nouveau influence and decorative simplification, foreshadowing the productions of the early 20th century. Earthenware with a slightly speckled light paste, glossy glaze showing a network of fine natural crazing due to age. Reverse bearing the original circular stamp. Diameter 24 cm. Height 2 cm. A coherent set, with a gentle presence, suitable for both everyday use and more elaborate table settings. €68.
