This utensilo wall organizer remains in good condition, with some discoloration. The color yellow has faded, the difference is visible between the exterior and the inside of the compartments. It is a famous design classic from the late 60's/early 70's. This is the utensilo wall organizer, designed by dorothee maurer-becker. It was manufactured by design m, the company of husband ingo maurer. This wall organizer is made from molded abs plastic. After a prototype was presented at the frankfurt fair in early 1969, it became an immediate success in europe and the u.s. Where it was marketed as wall-all. The unit features multiple plastic pockets in which to store any number of items, as well as several chrome hooks. It was photographed for the cover of the seminal l’utopie du tout plastique 1960-1973. Today, this item is still very popular and sought after. So much so, that vitra created a new edition in recent years, which was bigger than this original piece. This is an old, vintage edition.
