German postmodern brutalist lounge sofa by Rolf Benz for Musterring, 1990s, set of 2.

The design impresses with its brutalist honesty and the high quality of its craftsmanship and materials. It also features influences from mid-century Scandinavian and Italian design. The painted wooden frame at the back makes the construction of the sofa visible. This open and visible construction gives the design a certain lightness. The postmodern element is expressed through the expansive cushion. The grey leather creates a harmonious contrast with the black frame and is highlighted by a subtle line. The quality of the craftsmanship is particularly evident in the upholstery and the spring seat.
