Parisian Art Deco display cabinet in oak (renovated)
Elegant small Parisian display cabinet in oak dating from the 1930s. Its slender format and geometric decorations typical of Art Deco make it a particularly decorative storage piece that is easy to integrate. Materials: the cabinet is made of oak (solid oak structure and oak veneer panels) and is closed by a large glass door. The wood has a beautiful natural hue that highlights its grain as well as the various sculpted decorations on the front. Features: the cabinet opens with a large glass door and houses four shelves (height adjustable thanks to a rack system) allowing for the display of crockery, glassware, books, or collectibles. The piece is accentuated by fine fluting and several sculpted geometric patterns characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic, including a fan decoration on the upper frieze and a diamond pattern on the lower door. This antique cabinet offers ample storage capacity for a very compact footprint. Renovation: this Parisian cabinet has undergone extensive renovation. It was first sanded, then treated against wood-boring insects, and finally sanded again. It was also washed before being protected with a colourless wax on the outside. The interior of the cabinet has been painted in the Card Room Green shade by Farrow & Ball. As the lock is no longer functional, a magnet has been installed to ensure the door closes properly. A wood patch has been placed on the back to reinforce a crack on the upper part. Dimensions: L61 X D32.5 X H159.5. Interior: L59 X D26.5 X H143. A small Art Deco display cabinet full of character, particularly appealing due to its narrow format, the warmth of its oak, and the care taken with its sculpted details.
