Stunning Antique Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Bow-Front Silver Display Cabinet – circa 1900 A beautiful antique Edwardian mahogany bow-front silver display cabinet, dating from around 1900, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and elegant decorative taste of the period. This exquisite vitrine features a graceful bow-fronted form with a single glazed door, creating an elegant curved silhouette that beautifully showcases the fine craftsmanship of the cabinet. The door is fitted with distinctive Gothic-arched astragal glazing bars, adding architectural character and creating an attractive rhythm across the glazed front. The cabinet is richly decorated with delicate marquetry and intricate inlay work, incorporating elegant classical motifs inspired by the Adam style, including decorative urns, swags and ribbon details. These finely executed embellishments contrast beautifully with the warm, rich tones of the mahogany, creating a sophisticated and highly decorative appearance. Inside, the cabinet is traditionally fabric-lined and fitted with internal shelves, providing the perfect setting for displaying treasured silver, ceramics, porcelain, glassware, collectibles, books or other decorative objects. The glazed door allows your favourite pieces to be beautifully presented while keeping them protected. The cabinet is raised on slender square-tapered legs, giving the piece an elegant, lightweight appearance and beautifully complementing the curved bow-front design. The combination of the warm mahogany, graceful bow-front profile, Gothic-arched glazing, delicate marquetry and classical inlay makes this a particularly charming and sophisticated display cabinet. In good antique condition, with some minor signs of age and use consistent with a piece dating from around 1900. These subtle imperfections are part of its history and contribute to its authentic antique character. L 66,5cm x D 37cm x H 187cm
