Atelier K offers you this superb vintage ashtray by designer Arne Jacobsen. This iconic model is most often sold in the small format and in silver. Here, we are talking about the brass model and especially the large model. Stelton was first founded in 1960. It wasn't until 1964 that Arne Jacobsen joined the company, where his son-in-law Peter Holmblad became director in 1963. Arne Jacobsen had made an entire series for them in steel, which was launched in 1967. Arne Jacobsen died in 1971. In 1980, Peter Holmblad wanted to try to select some existing parts from their entire range (including pieces not designed by Arne Jacobsen) and make them in brass. They were only in production for a few years, as brass behaves differently from steel and the products crack spontaneously and were quickly withdrawn. This model, the Cylinda-Line, is made of brass. The properties of brass, which are very different from stainless steel, have led to numerous cracks, meaning that the already limited production has been further reduced. Rare piece... Used, as is. Traces of use. Dimensions: 8 cm H X 10 cm diameter. Weight: 355 g. Ref. 497.
