Vintage stainless steel punch bowl Alessi Alfra

Vintage punch bowl in 18/10 stainless steel from the Italian brand Alessi. Its hemispherical basin with clean lines rests on a flared pedestal and is accompanied by two elegantly curved side handles. The underside bears the mark "Alfra Alessi – 18/10 Stainless Steel – Italy – Mod. Dep.", as well as the engraved capacity "cl. 150" (1.5 litres). Founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi in Omegna, on the shores of Lake Orta, Alessi started as a metal turning workshop before becoming one of the great names in Italian design. The "Alfra" mark (for "Alessi Fratelli", the Alessi brothers) denotes productions from the 1950s to the 1970s, a period during which the company supplied hotels and restaurants with functional and refined stainless steel pieces — before excelling in collaborations with the greatest designers. With a minimalist and timeless spirit, this bowl can serve punch, sangria, or fruit salad, but will also make a beautiful centrepiece, an ice bucket, or a stylish catch-all.
