Susanne Wibroe is a Danish-American sculptor born in California in 1955. After living in Paris for 12 years and adopting two Ukrainian children, Katia and Igor, she moved to Montceau, France, in 2009 following a difficult divorce. She settled with her children on a houseboat owned by the famous sculptor Mark di Suvero. Despite challenging working conditions, especially during winter, Susanne continued creating impressive sculptures in bronze, steel, and ceramics. This artwork, created in 1980, is made of fibreglass and brass and is finished in red. The piece reflects her passion and determination, combining powerful materials with imaginative themes inspired by the elements Earth, Air, Water, and Fire.
