Hala Zeist 144 H.Th.J.A. Busquet first Generation Dutch Design

Dutch Design: an iconic Hala Zeist model 144 desk lamp, designed by H.Th.J.A. Busquet. This is a sought-after example from the very first generation, recognizable by the heavy, authentic cast iron base plate in which the model number '144' is cast, see photo. This early model has recently been modified for modern and daily use. The outdated flickering lamp at startup and the annoying hum have been completely removed. Instead, the lamp has been fitted with an LED conversion. The LED ring perfectly mimics the looks of the original, characteristic round fluorescent tube. As a result, the lamp starts up immediately, does not flicker, and is completely silent and energy-efficient. Condition and patina: The lamp is in a beautiful, vintage condition with a lovely, well-worn character. Both the dark brown shade and the base have developed some light, natural patina over the years. This gives the lamp its authentic Mid-Century appearance and reflects its decades-long history.
