A Scheurich vase lamp from the Kosmos series. The original West German pottery vase bears the shape number 263-15 and originates from the characteristic ceramic production of Scheurich. The rectangular vase body, only 6 cm deep, has a bright red glaze and is traversed by a plastic, abstract-floral relief, in whose recesses darker tones collect. Typical of the 60s/70s. I deliberately chose an oval lampshade instead of a round one. Its proportions echo the flat shape of the vase and extend it upwards. The shade is covered with a light linen fabric featuring stylised firefish. The coral red of the print reflects the colour of the ceramic, while the light background creates a beautiful contrast to the intense glaze. A red finishing band at the top and bottom further connects the shade and vase. When switched on, the motif changes through the linen fabric: the light softly shines through the material, making the firefish stand out clearly. The vase has been converted into a lamp without drilling. The original Scheurich ceramic remains completely intact with its collector's value, and the conversion is reversible. Wireless and flexible, the table lamp operates wirelessly and therefore does not require a fixed place next to a socket. It can be placed on a sideboard, shelf, bedside table, or dining table, and can also be taken onto the balcony or terrace in summer. The rechargeable LED light source is charged via USB-C and conveniently controlled by remote.
