Gino Carollo x Ciacci Kreaty — Suite of four "Delfy" red — c. 1990

This set includes four "Delfy" chairs, designed by the designer Gino Carollo (1965-) for the Italian company Ciacci Kreaty. The identification is supported by the photographed moulded marking: "DELFY / Design GINO CAROLLO / CIACCI KREATY / MADE IN ITALY". The genesis of the model, generally associated with the 1990s, has no formally documented manufacturing date. A broad dating, from the end of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century, is therefore retained. Gino Carollo began his activity in furniture design in 1990. His approach, described as attentive to technique, technology, and usage, is directly evident in Delfy. The continuous shell, made of moulded red thermoplastic, has no added decoration: its identity arises from the shaping of the material, two lateral cut-outs, and a narrow backrest that widens into horizontal wings. The design thus combines a strong graphic presence with functional qualities of lightness and stackability. This opposition between the continuous moulded surface and the visible metal skeleton belongs to the vocabulary of Italian furniture from the late 20th century. The result, more organic than strictly geometric, is accentuated by the saturated red, enhancing the overall sculptural reading. The European market for this model remains present without being abundant. The few recorded examples are distributed across several countries. In this context, a homogeneous series of four identical examples benefits from a stronger positioning than a single example, a pair, or a series of mixed colours.
