Mid-Century Minimalist Counterweight Pendant, 1960s

Vintage design. Minimalist mid-century clock with a counterweight. Very simple and functional design. The lamp consists of a round black metal shade and a translucent plastic diffuser bowl. The diffuser has a slightly smaller diameter and is located beneath the shade. The diffuser is secured with a screw at the bottom. This rod-shaped screw also serves as a handle to pull the lamp down. This black rod is repeated at the top as a support for the power line, so these two parts act as a continuous element. The large counterweight and the rose, designed as simple black cylinders, are intended to match the minimalist design language of the fixture. A special detail is hidden inside both elements. The cable of the tension mechanism runs over wooden rollers.
