Impressionist landscape by swedish painter and illustrator ruth wahlund (1906-1994). Handwritten in the lower right part of the painting. This painting was painted in 1960s. Oil painting on canvas glued to the panel. Painting signed and described on the back. Framed. Ruth wahlund, born june 24, 1906 in karlshamn, died august 5, 1994 in löderup, was a swedish painter and cartoonist. Wahlund grew up in finland where, after matriculation, she studied languages and music in helsinki for several years. After returning to sweden, she studied art at grünewald's painting school, valand's painting school and the royal academy of arts and through study visits to a number of european countries. Separately, she exhibited, among other things, at welamson's art gallery in stockholm and in arvika, ystad and hammenhög. Together with olle gill, she exhibited at galleri brinken and she participated in group exhibitions arranged by arvika art association, skåne art association, kristianstad art association, hörby art association, sweden's general art association exhibitions at liljevalch art hall and gothenburg art association's december exhibitions at gothenburg art gallery. Her art largely consists of landscape depictions from österlen in skåne as well as still lifes and portraits. Wahlund is represented at österlen's museum in simrishamn, ystad's art museum and moderna museum.
