Antique armchair in Italian Neo-Renaissance style / Savonarole – red velvet – blackened wood

Superb antique chair with character, inspired by the Savonarole / Neo-Renaissance style, combining architectural elegance and a strong decorative presence. High-backed chair with a structure made of blackened solid wood, resting on a base shaped like crossed arches with a central stretcher, typical of models inspired by Italian Renaissance. The backrest and seat are upholstered in deep red velvet, secured by a row of brass upholstery nails. The backrest is slightly curved at the lower part, providing an elegant and elongated line. The side posts end in small turned finials, enhancing the antique and decorative character of the piece. Stable and solid structure. Velvet shows visible wear (friction, small tear on one corner of the seat – see photos). Wood with signs of use consistent with age. Overall in good structural condition. Ideal for a classic or eclectic interior, theatrical decor, curiosity cabinet, shop, hotel, restaurant, or as an accent piece in a living room or office. Very beautiful visual presence.
