Superb vintage jug by Strehla Keramik in glazed stoneware, produced in East Germany (GDR) in the 1960s-70s. An iconic piece of the West German Pottery movement, recognisable by its geometric relief decoration and the contrast between deep black glossy glaze and matte chocolate brown background. Its sculptural and brutalist design gives it a true decorative presence. It can be used as a jug, small vase, or simply as a vintage decorative object in a mid-century, contemporary, or wabi-sabi interior. The graphic relief work captures light particularly well and recalls the German Fat Lava productions of the same era. An authentic collectible piece signed under the base “Strehla Keramik”. Condition: Very good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. Excellent preservation of the glaze and reliefs.
