The canvas is very large (190 X 220 cm) and depicts a blacksmith in a castle. Michel Guignard is a French artist, born in 1929 in Menouille in the heart of the Jura, in a family of craftsmen. Fascinated by raw art and the mystical expressionism of Romanesque art, he began his artistic career first as a wood sculptor. However, in 1975 he discovered his calling as a painter. He moved towards abstract and naïve expressionist forms, allowing himself to be guided by his inner self.
