Mid- Century Modern Writing Desk, Brass and Metal, Italy 1960s. This desk is a refined example of 1960s Italian Modernism, blending industrial innovation. The signature feature of this piece is the Formica top in an antique oak finish, which offers the durability of high-tech materials while showcasing the deep grain and warm character of aged wood. The architectural silhouette is framed by a sleek, black-lacquered tubular metall structure, supporting both the workspace and a floating drawer unit. This "airy" design creates a sophisticated visual tension between the minimalist metal frame and the rich, organic texture of the oak-effect surface. An orginal example of mid-century piece with balance of rationalist geometry and vintage warmth. Restored and refinished - Formica top polished and repaired. Brass polished and metal reapinted.
