Antique linen tablecloth embroidered with flowers

Square tablecloth handmade in the 30s by reusing old thick linen sheets. Indeed the sheets wore out in the middle and the housewives recovered the sides to make other pieces of household linen. Here, we see on the reverse the juxtaposition of the 2 pieces, and this seam is almost invisible on the place, it is a magnificent work. Central pattern composed of a square bordered in orange and embroidered with a garland of pink blue flowers and green leaves, and embellished with days, patterns of small orange and green embroidered squares at each corner, and edges underlined by an orange line at the chain stitch. A place a little worn in one corner, a small stain and some yellowing in another, all rather discreet, see photos. Dimensions 130 cm X 130 cm.
