Louis-Philippe sideboard in walnut, 19th century. Elegant Louis-Philippe sideboard made of solid walnut and walnut veneer, dating from the mid-19th century. It features two drawers at the waist and two moulded doors revealing a spacious storage area. The fronts showcase remarkable veneering work in a herringbone pattern, creating beautiful flame-like motifs that highlight the richness of the walnut grain. The front supports are adorned with detached turned columns resting on wide ball feet, an emblematic detail of Louis-Philippe furniture. The overhanging top with simple, balanced lines emphasises the elegance of this piece of bourgeois furniture. The cut metal lock entries and harmonious proportions contribute to the authentic charm of this sideboard, which is as decorative as it is functional. Its generous size allows it to fit well in a dining room, hallway, or living room. Particular appreciation is given to the quality of the wood, the finesse of the veneer, and the beautiful antique patina acquired over time. Period: Louis-Philippe, circa 1840-1860. Materials: solid walnut and walnut veneer. Opening: 2 drawers and 2 doors. Dimensions: H 99 X W 156 X D 59 cm. Left door needs attention and patina. Very good overall condition with a warm patina and some signs of use consistent with the age of the piece. A beautiful piece of regional French furniture, combining elegance, simplicity, and storage capacity.
