Large ceramic lamp base glazed by Jean-François Descombes in Vallauris. Produced in the early 1970s. Very beautiful white-beige glazing. A complex piece that showcases the dexterity of the ceramist. In perfect condition and functional. Height without the socket: 40cm. Maximum diameter: 21cm. Quite a heavy lamp base: over 3kg. Signed under the base: Descombes Vallauris. Shade and bulb not included. Born in 1940 in Switzerland, Jean-François Descombes worked with several renowned ceramists in Vallauris (Gilbert Portanier, Jean-Paul Van Lith, Jean Derval, ...). He set up his own workshop in 1972 in Vallauris and then in 1978 in Flayosc.
